Skoy Clothes - A Review and A Giveaway!

We try not to use too many paper towels in our kitchen. I think it’s a huge waste. Did you know that 2.5 million tons of paper towels are used annually? However, with some things rags don’t work exactly how I like. I want something more absorbent. I’ve tried sponges, but they don’t seem to last very long either, and it’s so hard to get them dry! I can’t tell you how many times my husband has used a sponge and I find it soaking wet in the bottom of the sink. Of course it gets yucky and smelly quickly!

Skoy clothes are a great solution to this problem! With an absorption factor of 15 times its own weight, it’s great for cleaning up spills and messes. It is thin enough to dry quickly, so it is less likely to get bacteria like a sponge does. Plus their design makes them easier to hang (I draped mine over the stove handle), further facilitating drying.

To use the Skoy cloth, you have to wet it. I thought this was kind of odd at first, but it changes it from a stiff board to a pliable, soft wiping machine. My daughter loved the flower design and bright colors, so of course she immediately claimed one of the clothes as her own! That was fine with me – I put her to work cleaning her diner and then just about everything else within her reach. It’s nice for her to have her own special cleaning cloth. Another benefit of the different colors is that you can assign a “task” to each cloth if you’d like. One color can go to the bathroom, a couple to the kitchen, and one more for use around the house.

Skoy clothes can be cleaned in the washing machine (although they warn against putting it in a load with harsh cleaners, such as bleach), zapped in the microwave to remove germs (be sure to wet it first), or cleaned in the dishwasher. We haven’t used ours enough to need to clean them yet, but I’m not expecting any problems.

Another great feature? They are 100% biodegradable! So once they are too dirty and worn out to be used any more you can just toss them in your compost pile. How cool is that?

BUY IT: I really like the Skoy cloth, Mixed colors w/ flower (4-pk), and I imagine they will be replacing future sponge purchases for me. At $6.99 a 4 pack for something that will last much longer than a sponge (and look cuter in the process), it seems like a great deal to me.
