What's Blooming Wednesday!

Despite the heat, a few things have survived this summer....

We call these spider lilies, I'm not sure what their "real" name is.
I always thought it was humurous that they are called spider lilies,
considering they don't have eight "legs"!

This is my beautiful pepper plant!
I think it's a Vietnamese pepper plant, one of the girls I used to work with
gave it to me years ago.  The main plant dies, but another always comes back!
The peppers start off green and slowly turn red, getting hotter in the process!

I looked them up to see how hot they get on the Scoville Scale:
Extremely Hot (above 30,000 Scoville Units)
WOWZA!  No wonder I never eat them raw!

What's Blooming Wednesday - Blog Hop!

It's still hot with very little rain here, so we don't have a ton of blooms.

Can you believe it's supposed to get up to 100 today?  Wow!
These are Little Miss' "Princess Flowers".
Snoopy dug the ones we planted earlier in the year up, so we promised her we'd replace them.  She looked all over and couldn't find any "Princess Flowers" until B finally found some in a pink pot - problem solved!

Here are some gladiolus that have come up as well.  So pretty with the sun shining through!

And some wildlife - this heron was eying the fish in our pond earlier this week.  It was a very young heron!

What's Blooming Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!  How are you doing?  We've been so busy and have so much going on.

Little Miss and I went to Art in the Park this past weekend.  We saw these flowers on the way and took a picture.  Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures once we got to the park!  They had some really neat art cars there, but the children weren't in the mood to hang around while the adults took pictures.

These are the flowers at my Mom's house.  We went for a short visit last week and met up with my cousin (Merry With Children) and her little boy.  It was so good to see the cousins playing together, they got along so well!

Here is a picture of all of us after a busy day!

What's Blooming Wednesday

Not much blooming here except the Hydrangeas, which are lovely.

And my after Ivan flowers.  They appeared after Ivan, displaced by the hurricane from someone else's yard.  They're in a portion of the yard that no one really sees, and I've tried to transplant them, but apparently they like it back there and no where else.  It's the only shady area!

And here is the carnation I got when we went to Mother's Day brunch.  We tried out a new place called Vic and Ike's since I got to pick, and man was it good!  I was sad that I forgot my camera, the food was just lovely.

Little Miss loved the carnation, and broke off most of the stem playing with it, but there was enough left so I could put it in a little vase when we got home.

What's Blooming Wednesday

We're enjoying a nice little cold spell that came through - and even a little rain, which was much needed!

I love this cactus bloom.  They only last a few days, but they sure are pretty!

This is wild onion - I just love the pretty blooms it makes!

A blurry picture of Little Miss' "Princess Flowers".  So far all are doing well except for the ones that Snoop-Dog dug up.  She's having so much fun growing her own flowers!

What's Blooming Wednesday

It's already starting to feel like summer here.  These guys are still blooming, but probably won't be much longer.

The Hydrangeas will be out in full force soon - I like them like this as well!

And since I had a live animal last week, I thought I'd show you another this week!  This one isn't nearly as scary, though.

Currently I'm hoping for some rain so everything keeps growing!

What's blooming where you are?

What's Blooming Wednesday

I love the smell of honeysuckle - we have some growing along our back fence.

And our roses are still going strong!

This guy isn't blooming, but I sure was shocked to find him!

I think it's a Black Racer.

What's Blooming Wednesday

Seems like there is a ton of stuff blooming right now!  I love it, even though some days my allergies don't.  You only get three pictures though - I've got to make these blooms last a few weeks!

I love my clematis - it comes back bigger and better each year, and doesn't seem to mind neglect!

Close-up of a blue iris.  They were growing in our pond really well, so I decided to experiment and see how they would do in the ground (I have a flower bed I'm trying to fill up with non-maintenance flowers).  They are doing great!

My white climbing rose is blooming like crazy now!  Notice the hint of pink?  It picked it up from a neighboring rose bush.  Later in the year it will probably produce white flowers with pink splotches - pretty!

What's blooming in your garden?  Leave me a comment telling me and I'll be sure to return some comment love!

What's Blooming Wednesday

We've had a cold snap these past few days, but I know it isn't nearly as cold as it is elsewhere!

This is Variegated Weigela.  I love how the blooms range from white to pink, and the leaves are pretty as well!

The Wisteria is so pretty while it lasts - this isn't in my yard, I took it while we were out for a walk.

I know some people think of them as weeds, but I just love clover!

Instead of having a linky today, I encourage you to head over to the Ultimate Blog Party and link up there!

Also, if you haven't checked out my giveaways, please do!

What's Blooming Wednesday - Blog Hop!

Here are some of the things that have been blooming here lately!

I can't remember the name of this tree, but we planted it a few years ago and have been enjoying it's blooms ever since!  The bees love it too.

The Camellias are ending their season - they will be missed!

I love this Camellia bush - it reminds me of roses!

Pretty in pink!

This is a blog hop!  I'd love for you to link up pictures of your flowers, but anything else will do to!  Feel free to grab the code and share it on your blog - let's make this a great hop!
